Kinds of Fish:
There are various types of fish that are commercially valuable and widely consumed. These include:
Commercially profitable fish: Cod, Salmon, Mackerel, Herring, Haddock, Sardines, Halibut, Squid, Prawns, Crayfish, Lobsters, Crabs, and Salted shark meat and lot of dried fish as fish product.
Specific Catches:
Pearl fish is caught in areas like the Persian Gulf and Sri Lankan coast.
Major Catch Regions:
Large fish catches are primarily found in the Northern Hemisphere, particularly in cold countries such as Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Kinds of Fisheries:
There are three main types of fisheries:
1. Deep Sea Fisheries:
Conducted in deep ocean areas, notably near the Japanese coast, Philippines, Norway, and Sweden.
2. Shore Fisheries:
Carried out closer to the coast, common in North East Asian countries and North Western European countries.
3. Fresh Water Fisheries:
Found in countries with large rivers and lakes, such as the Ganges and Brahmaputra in India and Bangladesh, many rivers in China, the River Indus, Haliji Lake, and Kalri Lake in Pakistan (Sindh).
